Big Sky Summer Activities

Surrounded by vast mountain landscapes, rushing rivers, and tranquil streams, Big Sky is a perfect getaway for any adventurer at heart! Summer is an amazing time to visit Montana. The great weather and wonderful outdoor areas allow you to enjoy a wide variety of activities like hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting. Here are our recommended things to do in Big Sky during the summer.

Big Sky Farmer's Market

The Big Sky Farmer's Market is held every Wednesday from early June - late August from 5-8 PM at the Big Sky Town Center. They have 100+ vendors featuring fresh produce, herbs, plants, flowers, baked goods, art, jewelry, and clothing as well as Montana Made products like antler art and woodworking. Additional vendors provide a fun atmosphere with food and beverages. Live music, children's activities in a great location.

Mountain Biking

Big Sky Bike Park offers riding adventures for experts, advanced, intermediate, and novice riders. Find great trails at the resort, or in adjacent National Forest service lands and trails. Big Sky Resort offers mountain bike coaching as well. You can rent bikes or bring your own.

Hiking Ulery’s Lake Loop Trail

This 3.9 mile trail is dog friendly and has amazing lake and mountain views! The hike can be completed in about 1-2 hours depending on pace.
